Evaluation 1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

As this question involved detailed answers I felt it would be best to use Prezi, which helps to make the presentation more organised, and will hopefully make it easier to understand. The question allowed me to evaluate whether or not my product has used, developed or challenged forms and conventions of real media products.

Evaluation 3. What have you learned from your audience feedback?

As well as interviewing participants, we had created a survey monkey, which was put up on the internet. Through social networking sites, we had also asked people to participate. The survey included participants watching the music video and answering a few questions. Altogether 8 people got involved and gave their opinion on our finished product. Below I will be evaluating the results I had gained from the survey monkey.

The first question on survey monkey asked the participants what their age was so that we can tell if we have got responses from our target audience. Results showed that half the respondents were 17 year olds, this was perfect as we were aiming to teenagers and young adults as our target audience. Additionally we got respondents who were a little older which was beneficial to us as we got feedback from a wider range of age groups.

The second question asked the participants for the gender, this allowed us to evaluate if the video has reached both sex groups. From the results gained from the questionnaire it shows that more girls had viewed the video, this wasn't a shock to us as the artist is a male and tries to portray himself as a manly man, who attracts a lot of girls. The results therefore show that this has been achieved.

The third question of the questionnaire had asked the participants if they enjoyed the music video and why. All 8 of he participants had answered and said that they did.
Here are quotes of what some said:
-'yes, the acting was very good'
-'I quite liked it. The song was very good'
Some liked the acting in the video and some felt that the editing was effective. Some even said that the music video looked like a real commercial one. This was all positive feedback and brought to us that the music video was some what a success.
From this we have learnt that the choice of song and the setting we all chose were effective in creating the type of music video we aimed to. It was enjoyed by both genders, and also by our target group of young adults and teenagers.

The fourth question was quite similar to the responses we got from the previous one. We asked the participant whether they felt that the music video had matched with the music, and if so how. We got a variety of responses.

'Yes because some of the scenes went well with the songs meanings'
' Yeh i thought it was current and relevant to the song'

Above are just two of  the eight participants' opinions on what they felt about the song and the music video being put together.
Results had made us aware of the fact the song went very well with the music video, and that the atmosphere it created was very effective. Although it was difficult to find a right scene to film the music video at, it all came together in the end as the music video successfully imaged the song.
However one participant did bring up the point that the music video was very stereotypical as we used a black boy for a rap song. However we felt that the actor would be suitable for the song, as it looked like our actor naturally sings like that.

For the 5th question of the survey we decided to ask the audience what atmosphere the music video creates for them. Every participant gave different answers. Here are a few quotes from the answers.
'It is emotional, however some parts are also nice and cheerful"
'The atmosphere was very positive in the music video. It was fun! It is not boring or dull"
'Quite a tense and a happy atmosphere'
From the results we got back I learnt that the scenes of emotion which we tried to create were portrayed to the audience. We felt that the lyrics of the song had an emotional meaning behind it. It was about a broken relationship, and so this had to be portrayed in the music video, which the audience felt was shown.
Additionally for some parts of the music video we aimed to make happy and positive scenes to show the couple having a good time, from the results gained from survey monkey we have learnt that this has been achieved.
One participants also expanded their point saying that the enjoyed it, which goes to show that even if a music video is emotional, it can be thoroughly enjoyed.

This next question gave us statistics on what the audience felt about all three of our products. This included our Digipak, magazine advert and a music video. Results showed that 5 out f the 8 participants  thought all the products were excellent and the other 3 felt that it was good, however maybe improvements needed to be done.
The results from this question helped me to understand that overall the products we create were effective to our target audience, and therefore we achieved one of our targets.

Similarly question 7 asked the participants if they felt that all our products had fit well together. All 8 of the participants had said that it had, this therefore made us learnt and aware of the fact that all the products came together and that the use of the colors and theme worked well together.

The 8th question asked the audience whether or not they felt that the three products we created had fit and conveyed the RnB genre. From the results we gained I have learnt that it has in fact conveyed the RnB genre as we have focused onto the actor and artist himself, which is what most of our audience feel is essential for an RnB music video.

The next question was used to see what faults there were in all of our products , this would therefore allow us to learn and improve from the mistakes we have made. Although many had said there were no faults, some had found a few. One person said that during the music video there should have been more scenes of both actors, therefore more love scenes. From this I have learnt that not all scenes of the music video will be enjoyed by everyone else. Also maybe our music video consisted of the artist too much and didn't have many happy loved up scenes. Therefore if I was to change or do another music video I would take the faults into consideration and make it more attractive to our target audience.

The final question asked the participants how much they liked the music video out of 10. From this we had gained results of 1 person liking it to the max, and others liking it also to a high standard. This made me aware of the fact that our music video was liked by our target audience and therefore in some what a success.

In conclusion the survey monkey has allowed us to get feedback from our audience and makes us aware about if our music video has been liked. Also it helped to point out faults, and therefore made us learn about the mistakes we had made and essentially could have improved.

Evaluation 4. How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

To answer this question i have decided to used a slide share which goes through each of the new technologies i have used in every slide.
