This is known to be one of the greatest music videos of all time, as it was a quirky video which had a great dance to it. Also the editing and. Techniques used in it, was for the first time and so from then on other artists have took and used this idea.

100 Top music videos - #88 - Elton John / I want love

This song was a song was one of elton johns top music videos as it had such a big meaning behind it, and the actor who was in it was known to be in the same situation as the lyrics in the actual song.

100 Top music videos - #95 - The cardigans / My favourite game

During the video we see the journey the singer makes, moving side to side on a road. The ending is what makes this music video one of the greatest, as she crashes and flies out onto the ground. However there are five different endings, one being that she does not die and gets up after the dramatic car crash.

100 Top music videos - #96 - So Solid Crew / 21 seconds

This was the starting point for the well known urban band So Solid Crew. The name of the song being 21 seconds basically meant that each band member had 21 seconds to introduce themselves. The video was a massive hit as every member had there own characters and at that time this was something different and unique, so most people enjoyed watching it.

100 Top music videos - #98 - Bronski Beat / Smalltown Boy

The great thing about this music video is that it tells a story about a young lad who  was cast away by his family for being homosexual. We see that the band members were all homosexual, and this video helped to show how homosexuals were treated differently by society, as we view the scenes at the swimming pool.

Things learned from preliminary task

The main things i learnt from the preliminary task was that for an efficient music video, you will need:
- good lip syncing, as it makes the music video look more realistic
- editing to beats, as the shots will look on point if the shots match with the beats
- matching setting, the settings of the scene should try and match the song choice as it will make the music video look more realistic.
 All these are needed in our main music video, to make it look more realistic.

preliminary video

he is the finished video of me and my team mate, Perry, lip synching to the track 'don't go breaking my heart'. Although the lip synching was not perfect, its made us realise that when it comes to the actual music video, we will need to make sure the lip sync is perfect. This may have to be done by finding a person who is good at drama to come and act for us. Also it was hard editing the video as the at some points the images didn't match with the video, and so when it comes to the music video we have to make sure that the video blends in with the music.

Preliminary Task

To see if we are capable of editing a music video, we were set a preliminary task as a group, where we had to film a short clip of two people singing to the song 'don't go breaking my heart'. It was essential that it was edited according to the beats, and that the lip synching looked acceptable.

Choice of song for my music video

Here is the track we have chosen to make a music video to.

Song change

Due to the song 'fire' being taken down from youtube, we have resulted in a song change. We will hopefully stick to the same artist, however are still deciding what song is best for what we aim to achieve.
After the song is chosen, i will put up the lyrics and ideas of the new song.

Practise editing

last lesson i edited unknown shots with unknown music. I made sure that the clips matched with the beat on the music, it was difficult to be precise however it was eventually done. Some of the beats did match at the start however as the song went on the clips looked unorganised, and so to make my music video perfect i will have to get good shots, making sure i get several. Also I have chosen a song that does not contain too many beats which will therefore allow me to be versatile with the way i edit.
The video of the practise editing will be put up on a sooner date.

rough outline of initial ideas

The outline of or music video has been decided, and we also have several ideas which we may result in using if our main one does not work out. Below i will write the story lines in order, with the first being the one we wish to achieve the most:

1. A boy leaves his house listening to a voice note from a girl, there is then a flashback of them two enjoy themselves in the past. After the flashback the boy starts running and comes across a little kids bike, and decides to take it to go find her. However the kid starts running for his bike back which leads to the boy having to get off (he also crashes into an object which leads him to fall to the floor. A car then stops as he sees the boy on the floor, offering a lift. The car then takes the boy to the destination where the girl is.


2.We have a boy in the park taking a morning jog. He then receives a voice note from an old friend. He realises that the girl who is speaking is someone he misses and wishes to find. He then takes several transports in london to get to her house, passing several landmarks on his way there.

3. The boy sings the song in several locations, keeping it simple by just lip syncing it the whole way through.
